The BUiLD Disaster Resilience Network: Knowledge Transfer, Research and Innovation

Under the umbrella of a National Disaster Resilience Network, the BUiLD Centres of Excellence will act as local enablers in the implementation of a comprehensive Disaster Resilience Framework.

Based on the penta helix model the vision behind the the National Disaster Resilience network is to facilitate collaboration between universities and the public, private and third sector and to facilitate the dissemination of project outputs more widely across Indonesia and the region.

The network will consolidate and expand the activities taking place in different Centres of Excellence and work to inform future policy making, university governance, curriculum development, disaster awareness training, the facilitation of disaster response and recovery capability, fundraising for disaster aid, and networking for knowledge transfer, research and innovation.

The creation of the National Disaster Resilience Network is overseen jointly by Universitas Islam Indonesia and Universitas Ahmad Dahlan in Yogyakarta.
