Institute Polytechnic Porto, Portugal

Institute Polytechnic Porto is the largest polytechnic institution in Portugal. IPP integrates 20 research and development units with 1000+ researchers and is the best positioned Portuguese polytechnic in international scientific rankings. Its research lines focus on psychosocial intervention and include specialisations in “Crisis and Catastrophes” and “Virtual Reality for Health”.

Both research lines promote qualified education, research, technical-scientific publications and consultancy. IPP works closely with the Porto Metropolitan Crisis and Catastrophes Entities Platform involving, amongst others, the Metropolitan Police, Porto Fire and Rescue Services, local authorities for civil protection and medical emergencies, and the Red Cross.

In this project, IPP are overseeing the creation of a disaster awareness campaign using virtual reality.
