President University, Jakarta

President University is an A-ranked university located in Cikarang, Jakarta, and Tanjung Lesung. Being close to the capital, President University has easy access to all places in Indonesia, including those that are most disaster prone. The University has 150 members of staff and over 4,500 students across four Faculties, including Computing, Engineering, Business, and Humanities.

Close to ten percent of students are international, which is the biggest proportion of foreign students in Indonesia. Lecturers are research active with over 1,000 research articles indexed by Google Scholar and Scopus. President University holds 110 copyrights and 4 patents. The University has a wide network of national and international collaborations and has strong connections to the corporate sector.

In 2018, President’s campus in Tanjung Lesung was severely affected by the Sunda Strait tsunami that followed the eruption of Mount Krakatoa. As a result, President University joined the BUiLD Consortium with the aspiration to develop a disaster mitigation and recovery centre.

As an experienced partner in the Erasmus+ funded project “Growing Indonesia – a Triangular Approach”, President University used to oversee the dissemination and exploitation activities of the BUiLD project.
